Spring has been postponed! Well, at least by the looks of things this spring and the ever-changing weather. I try to do something active each day whether it is focused exercise or just being more physically active throughout the day. I have had to be more resourceful when it comes to getting enough steps in each day, especially on the snowy days! more...

I am not a numbers person. I hate math, I don’t understand it and I sure as heck can’t stand spending hours looking at spread sheets, numbers and calculations. One thing I do love, money! How many of you LOVE salads? A good handful, I would suppose, but probably not the majority. When I talk to people about eating more salads, they usually say that they struggle with eating them because they are boring: iceberg lettuce, shredded cheese, shredded carrots, bacon bits, croutons, and ranch dressing. Take a second to think back; when was the last time you sang out loud, like really belted it out? As it turns out, singing is really, really good for you and there is scientific research that supports it. When we sing our neurotransmitters connect in different ways than when we are not singing, and the temporal lobe of our brain gets all fired up. This causes the release of endorphins, which instantly makes us happier. If we have this release of endorphins often it can make us smarter, healthier, happier and more creative overall. more...

Happy Easter! One item that I typically offer to bring to our family gatherings is deviled eggs. They are easy to make and are a nice addition to the appetizers at a party. I used to always make my deviled eggs the same way, but this year I wanted to try something different to help make this dish a little healthier. I had heard about avocado deviled eggs before, but was unsure of how they would turn out...but they turned out to be delicious! more...
