Well Stocked Pantry

by Megan

I have been in such a cooking mood lately but I’m getting a little tired of forgetting one or two items on my list at the grocery store. So that got me thinking, there has to be a list of items for a well-stocked pantry. After scouring several websites and blogs here are some of the most recommended and the items I personally use the most in a typical week.

Condiments/Oils:

Canola oil

Unsalted butter

Vinegar- white-wine, apple cider, balsamic

Olive oil

Soy sauce- we get reduced sodium

Ketchup

Barbecue sauce-always Sweet Baby Ray’s in our house

Dijon mustard

Sriracha

Seasonings:
Ok, there are tons of seasonings you could have but most of ours go unused, these are the ones we grab most often.

Garlic- whole cloves, minced, garlic power. You name it, I use at least 3-4 times a week

Honey

Crushed red pepper -I use this every day in my eggs!

Cinnamon

Kosher salt

Cumin

Limes

Canned goods/cupboard dwellers

Tomatoes

Tomato paste

Chicken broth

Canned beans- we usually have a mix of black, red kidney and cannellini

Tuna

Nut butter (we usually just get peanut butter unless almond butter is on sale)

Onions

Sweet potatos

Grains

All-purpose flour and whole-wheat flour

Brown rice

Rolled oats

Whole-wheat pasta

Quinoa

Refrigerated items:

Olives – I’m constantly refilling this item because my husband snacks on olives all the time

Low-fat milk

Sour cream

Eggs

Freezer items:

Chicken breasts

Ground beef

Broccoli

Spinach

Shrimp

Whole wheat bread
