Non-Scale Victories

No matter where you are in your healthy living journey, acknowledging success is a huge part of staying on track.  Whether you are trying to lose weight, maintain your weight or even gain, tracking and recognizing victories that are not tied to the scale is a great way to stay on track! Be proud of even the smallest accomplishments, as this will help to keep you on track to get to your goals!

Did you take a walk in the insane heat even though you didn’t want to?  Count that as a victory!  Did you notice that you felt like you had more energy in the afternoons after sticking to your goal of eating more vegetables?  Victory!  Keep track of these victories in a journal to look back on when you need some motivation!  Here is a list a few non-scale victories, but keep in mind that anything you deem to be a victory counts!

Victories:

  • Wedding ring fits better
  • You feel more optimistic
  • Fewer food cravings
  • Improved sleep
  • Consistent exercise
  • Tried a new recipe
  • Hit your water intake goal
  • Not out of breath after a flight of stairs
  • Eating to satiety, not fullness
  • Clearer skin

These are all just simple ideas of non-scale victories, but you can count anything you see fit as a victory!
