Life Lately

Happy spring time at last! So happy that as I’m typing these words its rain that’s falling outside and not snow! I love it! Here are some of the other things I love right now:

Flowers- expensive or cheap, real or fake I am a huge believer in having bright flowers around the home. I have been purchasing one bouquet at the grocery store and splitting it up into 2-3 small vases so I can add a bit of color to more rooms. And wouldn’t you know it, besides being beautiful flowers provide some great health benefits!

YouTube workouts before work- this has been the easiest way to squeeze exercise into my current routine. Just a month ago I had to exercise at night but I’ve figured out how to get in some activity now before work. Depending on when my son wakes up and how much time I have to get ready before work I can pick a high- or low- intensity form of exercise (as in, will I need to shower afterwards to look presentable??) and I can choose something 10 minutes or 45 minutes. And the best part- it’s completely free. I will never purchase an exercise DVD again.

Green smoothies- I got back onto the green smoothie bandwagon having fallen off for a few years. Bananas, ice, almond milk and a few handfuls of spinach. Easy, delicious and fun to drink. I try to drink one of these before I start with my cup(s) of coffee in the morning.

Lavender oil- I diffuse this into our bedroom as well as my son’s at bedtime. It’s supposed to have a calming effect and while I can’t say it works every night with him I love how good our rooms smell.
