Do You Need a Jam Session?

Take a second to think back; when was the last time you sang out loud, like really belted it out? As it turns out, singing is really, really good for you and there is scientific research that supports it. When we sing our neurotransmitters connect in different ways than when we are not singing, and the temporal lobe of our brain gets all fired up. This causes the release of endorphins, which instantly makes us happier. If we have this release of endorphins often it can make us smarter, healthier, happier and more creative overall.

So, if you need a little pick me up, go to a place where you are comfortable (bedroom, car, karaoke bar, etc.), turn on your jam, and sing that tune like it’s your own. If you are in your car and you see me pull up in my white crossover singing like it’s my job; please, no judgement. I probably won’t care anyway. At least until my two-year-old says “mom, please stop, my ears are hurting.”
