A Quick Total Body Dumbbell Workout

by Sarah

During the fall we get to experience a few pleasant things – leaves changing colors, fresh-from-the-orchard apples, and warm days with cool nights. Some other not-so-enjoyable things that come with fall are shorter days, cold weather, and fast-fading exercise motivation. As for me, my typical evening walk doesn’t seem to be as fun in the dark and cold. Now is the time that I focus on staying motivated with diverse workouts that can be done inside the comfort of a heated home.

Here is a quick total body workout to try. All you will need is a set of dumbbells, or anything you feel can substitute as such.

Total Body Workout

10-12 repetitions, Complete routine 2-3 times OR timed for 30 secs each

Rest for 15-30 seconds between exercises

Dumbbell Deadlift with Upright Row

Lunge with Bicep Curl – walking or stationary, bicep curl at top or bottom of the lunge movement

Wood Chops – complete repetitions on both sides

Alternating Shoulder Press (Standing) – while standing, lift the opposite hand and leg up in the air (almost like a skipping motion); repeat on both sides

Dumbbell Kickback with Leg Extension – repeat on both sides

Wall Push-Ups – can complete this with elbow going out, or keeping elbows close to the ribs
