We had bought some ground turkey for one reason or another a few weeks ago and I found it in our freezer. In an attempt to use it up, as well as use up several cans of food in our pantry, I made this turkey chili and my husband said it was one of the best batches I've ever made. I just made a delicious meal last night and it was a twist on a trusted recipe I've used dozens of times. It's my version of Pad Thai and it is soooo good. My Favorite Pad Thai is from Thai Orchid in downtown Eau Claire, but this saves me money and calories... I knew my husband was skeptical about the squash, but he said it was good and ended up having seconds. So I'm telling you--try this substitution. more...

I have the perfect summer, turning fall, recipe for you - roasted vegetables and a great harissa and Greek yogurt dressing. If you’ve never had harissa, it comes in a paste and is common in Middle Eastern cuisines. It’s not spicy, but it has a powerful little kick that is full of flavor. more...

I have a confession to make. I’ve only had meatloaf twice in my life. I think my mom had it too much when she was a kid and we never made it when I was growing up. Recently I was making the below meatball recipe and I had an epiphany: meatloaf was called such because it was meat in the shape of a loaf, and meatballs were called such because they were meat in a ball shape. In my house, I am the veggie queen! I have a strong need to have a huge serving of vegetables with my lunches and dinners! My husband, on the other hand, prefers meats and noodles for his meals. We try to incorporate a little of both so that everyone is happy with dinner, but sometimes we get sick of the same old food over and over again.
