With school back in session, I get a lot of questions from parents regarding the notorious after-school snack. As soon as most kids get home from school, they’re looking for something to eat. Finding something nutritious and appealing to children can be a challenge!

I came across this great recipe the other day and knew that I needed to share it.  These fun snacks are healthy, tasty and will help tide your children over until dinner hits the table. As an added bonus, they’ll have a blast helping you make them!

Give them a try and let me know what you (and your kids) think!

Yield: 8

Ingredients:
4 bananas
1/3 cup low-fat yogurt
¼ cup granola cereal

Instructions:
1. Peel bananas and cut in half. Insert ice cream stick in cut end of each piece, creating a handle.
2. Holding by the stick, dip the banana into yogurt. Allow excess yogurt to drain and then roll in granola.
3. Place on an aluminum foil covered cookie sheet and put into freezer immediately.
4. Allow to freeze complete, then serve!
