We all know the drill for date night – dinner and a movie, anyone? If the same old dating routine is getting a little stale, maybe it’s time to try something new! I’m here to throw out the crazy idea of switching out your usual routine for fitness date night.
Now, I know what you’re thinking. “Groupie, I can’t get all dirty and sweaty on a date!”
Adding a little activity to a date doesn’t necessarily mean that you need to get your sweat on. What it does do, however, is move the focus of the date away from food and onto something a little healthier!
Interested? Here’s a few ideas to get you started!
Horseback riding. Take a lesson together and let the fun begin!
Go dancing. Not only will you get some great aerobic exercise during the date, you might learn a new move or two from your partner!
Try an indoor climbing wall. Turn the date into a fun competition and see who can make it to the top first. In addition, get a great upper body workout while racing your way to the top!
Take a hike. A nature hike can make for great date material. For some added fun, pack a healthy picnic lunch and enjoy a romantic meal!
Whether it’s a first date or a date night for married couples, trying something new can add a little spark to any relationship. And it doesn’t hurt that you burn a few extra calories in the process!
If you’re still itching for something traditional, try going out for a fruit smoothie after your activity. It will give you the chance to sit down and talk without blowing your diet for the day! Another great option is to take a healthy cooking class together.
