I don’t know about you, but last month’s weather started to take a toll on my exercise routine. Between the sweltering heat and flood-inducing rain, it’s been a challenge getting outside and active! (Somehow the air conditioning is just so seductive this time of year.) However, the weather looks like it’s starting to turn around, meaning we can all get back into our exercise routine! If the cooler weather is motivating you to start some new healthy habits, be sure not to make some of these simple weight loss mistakes!..

Want to improve your fitness level, boost your metabolism, and burn fat without spending hours working for it? I know I sure do! With the busy world we live in people are spending less time working out but still expecting immediate results. So, is it possible to see better results without increasing the amount of time that we spend exercising? I’m typically a bit of a cynic with these things, but recent research seems to be saying that it may be possible!..

It seems as though everyone here at work has their summer vacation planned. I’ve heard about several Caribbean cruises, one fantastic-sounding trip to a resort in Mexico and a couple of guys were recently was telling me about a trip later this summer out to Vegas for a bachelor party. Now, it’s hard to imagine how these different vacations could be similar, but there is a common thread tying them all together. Any guesses what that could be?..

I hope everyone has been enjoying the beautiful weather we’ve had lately! The longer days and warmer weather has been a great motivator for me to get back outside. Lately, that’s included long walks with some of my friends. While I was out walking with my friend Megan the other day, we came upon a set of stairs behind an apartment complex...

This past year, like a lot of people I know, I really got into watching the Winter Olympics. Some nights I found myself cheering for athletes competing in sports I’ve never even heard of before! Take, for example, the sport of skeleton. Competitors in skeleton lay face-first down on a luge sled and hurtle down a bobsled track at speeds up to 80 miles per hour. The true challenge in the sport is that this little sled has no steering mechanisms; athletes steer through their body movements alone...

Have you heard of the new Sketchers Shape-ups yet? Lately, it seems like I’ve been seeing them in magazine ads, TV commercials and displays everywhere! Sketchers claim that if you wear these “miracle shoes” you’ll have more toned and strengthened leg, back, buttock and abdominal muscles. All of these benefits from a pair of shoes?! As with any new product I was a little skeptical...

One of my favorite television shows is “The Biggest Loser”. I find it very motivating when I see how hard the contestants push themselves every week. If they can do those workouts with Jillian, I have no reason to skip a 30 minute session with my bike! Many people I know are trying to be their own “biggest loser” and this show inspires their efforts...

It’s January and you all know what that means – New Year’s Resolutions are in full swing. If you are like me though, they may already be broken (never again will I attempt to give up chocolate forever!). This commonly happens when people set unrealistic expectations and find themselves exhausted and worn out from the holidays. One resolution in particular that always seems to be popular is the resolution to exercise more...

I really enjoy my job. Hey, I get to write fun and interesting posts for my readers every day! Who could complain about that?! In fact, I think that most people also enjoy their jobs. However, sitting at a desk for most of the day can make it more challenging to keep weight off...
